Prince Harry Sports Beard, Says Prince William Is Jealous He Gets to Be Away From a "Screaming Child" on His South Pole Trip

In the last month Prince Harry broke a toe and grew a beard! The redheaded royal is on the cusp of of a 16-day, 208-mile trek through the South Pole for Walking With the Wounded -- a walk for disabled British war veterans. 

But after breaking his toe less than a month before the journey, his health became a concern. In a new interview with Sky News just before the journey began, Harry joked that the injury was strategic on his part.  

“I obviously broke my toe hoping to get out of the trip, that was a massive fail on my part!" he joked in a new video interview from Antarctica. "But whatever setbacks I’ve had, it’s irrelevant against these guys and it always was going to be so there was never any question of pulling out. I’ve got four limbs. These guys have got all these life-changing injuries that are really hard for them, I’m glad to have the chance to create awareness.”

The 29-year-old has also been sporting a beard, a sexy byproduct of roughing it on the South Pole. And despite the extreme conditions, Harry's older brother, new dad Prince William, is envious of the excursion. 

“My brother’s just quite jealous that I managed to get away from a screaming child," Harry said laughing. 

That screaming child, of course, would be baby Prince George, the Duke of Cambridge's 4-month old son with wife Kate Middleton. 

And though William might be jealous of Harry, the royal reveals that their dad, Prince Charles, is worried. 

“My father was a little bit concerned, but I obviously try to keep him calm by telling him that the North Pole was the dangerous one because we were walking on a frozen ocean, whereas this one, although there’s crevasses, hopefully the guide will take us around that," Harry revealed. "But apart from frost bite and things like that, you should just be able to look after yourself."

Kensington Palace confirmed that bad weather confined the team to their camp on Nov. 24, and their departure could be delayed until Tuesday, Nov. 26.
